Vista Colorado went on a walking field trip today to the CHP office, the library, and had lunch out on the softball field. The weather was nice, and the students and staff had a great time.

Vista Colorado 4th and 5th graders got the opportunity to hear the journeys of some published authors. The authors included Kat Smith, Sheila Miller, and NUSD’s very own Gabriela Orosco Belt. What a great opportunity for our students.

Last week was Read Across America Week. Vista had many fun activities including a visit from the NHS Cheerleaders and Mustang Mike. They visited the second grade and read to the students. It was a great time for all.

The San Bernardino County School Boards Association and San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools are pleased to announce that Amy Avila, in the Excellence in Education/Student Alumni category, has been selected as one of the six recipients of the 33rd San Bernardino County Education Medal of Honor.

Today Vista Colorado and Monument Peak 4th and 5th graders were treated to a presentation from Yale alumni. They answered many questions and discussed the importance of attending college and the opportunities that can be gained from it.
