Child Find
Child Find is a component of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) that requires local school districts to identify, locate, and evaluate all children suspected of having a disability. It requires that the district within which the student resides offer a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) to all students who have been assessed and found to be eligible for special education services.
Any parents of children who are attending private schools and/or private school staff that suspect a child has a disability should contact the the Needles Special Services Department for information regarding assessment to determine eligibility for special education services.
