New Trustee Sworn In to Represent Area 3!

Dusti Rose Bacon was sworn in last night during the Board of Trustees meeting to represent Area 3 (Chemehuevi Valley and Big River)! NUSD is excited to have her join our dynamic School District! Welcome Dusti Rose Bacon! Thank you for volunteering to serve in this position.

Mrs. Laurie Stephenson Honored as Educator of the Year

The Needles Chamber of Commerce honored Vista Colorado ES teacher Mrs. Laurie Stephenson as the "Educator of the Year" for her work and advocacy on behalf of our students with special needs. She started as an Instructional Aide in NUSD more than a decade ago and has taught Special Day Classes, Resource Support Program and Intervention programs for both general and special education students. We are proud of the work that Mrs. Stephenson has accomplished and her dedication to our students!

Middle School Holds First Team Building Activity

All MS students have been placed on 6-7-8 grade teams. Friday 6th graders received the names of their team members and they had to find these other students. Once found, teams received a treat and then students and Mrs. Avila danced on the lawn together. Connecting Students to School!!!

VISTA Receives Award from State of California for Student Support Programs!

State of California awarded a handful of schools in SB County with awards for their Positive Behavior Intervention and Support programs for students! Vista has worked to connect students to school and engage them in positive behavior. Thank you VISTA staff for all you do for Needles students and their families! You are appreciated!
