Trustee Approved for Needles Area 2

Robert (Bob) Smith has been approved to fill the Area 2 Trustee seat for the City of Needles. Bob will be sworn in as a Trustee Area 2 at the annual reorganization meeting on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. Bob's term of office will be for 4 years or until November of 2022.

Applications Available for Vacant Trustee Seat for Area 2

Applications are now being accepted for the vacant Trustee seat for Area 2 in the City of Needles. The vacant seat will be filled by an appointment process starting at 5:00 pm at the next regular Board of Trustee meeting on Tuesday, November 6th. Applicants will interview in open session with the Board of Trustees, who will appoint to fill the seat following deliberation of all qualified candidates. Applications are available online and at the District Support Office. Applications are due to the District Office by 4:00 pm on Monday, November 5th.

Needles Band Takes First Place at Fort Mojave Indian Days Parade!

The Needles HS and Needles MS Band was the First Place Winner in the Fort Mojave Indian Days Parade last Saturday. Band Director Justin Carlson led our very talented students in a march through downtown Needles to celebrate our rich cultural heritage of the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe. NHS Students Honored by Needles City Council

Four NHS students were sponsored by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department to participate in the Marine Corp Devil's Pups program last summer. All four students, Erin Breaux, Ryly Payson, Isidro Ramirez and Dawsen Yeager completed the course successfully! Thank you to Deputy Valdez and the Needles station of the SB County Sheriff's Department for your support of our students! Norma Bunton Recognized by Needles Chamber as Educator of the Year 2018

Norma Bunton was recognized by the Needles Unified School District and the Needles Chamber of Commerce as the Educator of the Year. Dr. McNeil, Superintendent, believes that all District employees are educators in their own way to make a difference for our students. "Norma is the first person that her students see on the bus each morning and the last smile they get as she drops them off at home at night", says Dr. McNeil. Norma is a graduate of Needles HS and still plays with students in the local Bluenotes Band. "As a bus driver in the Needles Unified School District, she has made a difference for our students each and every day!" The Needles Unified School District is PROUD of Norma Bunton and congratulates her on this award.
